Pan-Seared Steak with Pomegranate Sauce by Dora Cheng
#PAfallharvest is back in action. 🍂
This next superfruit is normally a winter staple, but we more than encourage chefs and consumers to start featuring it fresh into its season since it actually kicks off mid/late-fall.
Pomegranates, as most already know, are a crown jewel in the produce world. From its pulp to its pits, pomegranates are sweetly tart and praised for their wildly impressive health benefits.
Once again, our guest chef Dora Cheng has taken this #PAfallharvest pick and turned it into a dazzling dinner. Check out her pan-seared steak recipe with pomegranate sauce below, and prepare to never look at steak the same way again. 🤤
Pan-Seared Steak with Pomegranate Sauce
2 ribeyes or New York strips
1 /2 cup pomegranate juice
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Season both sides of steak with salt and pepper generously.
Heat a skillet on medium high heat and add olive oil.
Sear each side of the steak for 3-4 minutes for medium rare.
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest in a plate loosely covered with foil.
Add pomegranate juice, honey, and salt to the pan and bring to a boil.
Add butter and juice from the rested steak to the sauce. Simmer the sauce until thickened.
Pour the sauce on top of the steak and garnish with pomegranate arils and chopped parsley
